Identification

Identifying Eriocaulaceae members is easy, as they are unique among monocots in that they possess capitula. However, the identification of genera or infra-generic ranks might prove tricky, especially because most characters delimiting these entities are found in the tiny flowers, which are difficult to visualize. In addition, the availability of identification keys is constrained by the lack of recent taxonomic revisions for most groups. Therefore, this page aims to provide links to identification keys, traditional or interactive, that are already available for the family.
